CONSTRUCTIONS

Knitted Surgical Mesh

These constructs are made up of multiple strands of fiber knitted into particular patterns. These materials have been known to be used in medical devices for reinforcing soft tissue in plastic surgery and hernia applications, vascular grafts, among others.




Braided Sutures

These constructs are made of multiple strands of fiber that have been intertwined in such a way that no two fibers are twisted around one another. Braids have a high surface area, and can be constructed, with or without core filament material, with one or more braid layers consisting of 4-16 ends of yarn. Along with our braid constructs, we also feature our Caproprene™ line for coatings and drug delivery applications, which are typically applied at < 5% add-on weight.

FIBERS & YARNS

Monofilaments

Consists of a single strand of fiber where the diameter is greater than 100 µm. These materials are typically oriented to enhance mechanical properites, dimensional stability or flexibility, and have been used in a range of medical applications.

Microfilaments

Consists of a single strand of fiber where the diameter is less than or equal to 100 µm. These materials can be oriented to enhance mechanical properites or flexibility and have been featured as components in mesh, multifilaments, and other medical constructs.

Multifilaments

Consists of fibers made of multiple strands of filaments of 1.5-30 denier per filament and 5-80 filaments per bundle. These materials are usually further oriented in-line and are known to be featured as components in mesh and other medical constructs.

Advanced Wound & Burn Tissue Scaffolds

Our absorbable & synthetic biomaterials may be converted into nanofibrous tissue scaffolds to facilitate the healing process, as well as converted into barrier applications to augment fluid exchange.

Absorbable & Synthetic Biomaterials

Our raw absorbable & synthetic polymer may be purchased to be converted via injection molding into solid implantable medical devices.
